A contribution to a mail art project led by the artist-run organization UNIT/PITT. The intention of the project was to gather “recipes” to be published in a follow-up to Helen’s Cookbook (2007): a full-colour cornucopia of recipes by artists, food-related texts and images produced as part of an investigation and celebration of food, eating and the social and artistic possibilities of the meal. For this iteration, there were no limitations on content or themes. Submissions could be a traditional recipe, or a variation on the concept of a recipe, or a response to a previous entry from another artist. This entry is a simplified set of instructions for creating induced pluripotent stem cells, a type of stem cell that can be generated from a somatic cell.
